Authors and Affiliations Fuel cells are an important technology for a potentially wide variety of applications including micropower, auxiliary power, transportation power, stationary power for buildings and other distributed generation applications, and central power. These applications will be in a large number of industries worldwide. A fuel cell is a multi-component device with two electrodes, separated by an ionic conductive membrane, the positive anode where the oxidation reaction (loss of electrons LEO) occurs and the negative cathode where the reduction reaction (gain of electrons GER) occurs (LEO goes GER, lose electrons oxidation, gain electrons reduction). The title of their book is Fuel Cells: Their Electrochemistry, which was published by McGraw-Hill. In l966, Srini began serving as an Assistant Professor of Electrochemistry in Surgical Research at the Downstate Medical Center, State University of New York (DMC-SUNY) in Brooklyn, New York. While he was there, Srini published several articles on Handbook of Fuel Cells - Fundamentals, Technology and Applications (ISBN: -471-49926-9) Edited by Wolf Vielstich Handbook of Fuel Cells - Fundamentals, Hubert A. Gasteiger, Arnold Lamm. Volume 3: Fuel Cell Technology and Applications. 2003 John Wiley & Sons, Ltd. ISBN: -471-49926-9. Catalyst development for water-gas shift 191 Comprising approximately 170 articles by more than 200 contributors, "The Handbook of Fuel Cells: Fundamentals, Technology and Applications", will be an invaluable source of reference for all those working directly in this important and dynamic field, for electrochemists, and for scientists, engineers and policy-makers involved in the quest for Rob
